the red car strikes again

Been thinking of selling the damn thing...

The radiator fan failed us once again which resulted to almost an hour of waiting and around 10 L of water.

Hay... if only the need for a car is not that great, the next time it conks on us we'd ditch it in the blink of an eye.

pregnancy and dating

It seems that I only needed to get pregnant to be able to date more. Syempre pa, asawa ko ka-date ko. Hehe! Ramil and I dated more in the past few days than in the past few months. We've been so focused on saving up (to no avail) that we would usually 'date' at home. Being newlyweds and all, it was actually fun.

With my pregnancy though, I haven't been able to cook that much for my husband. Nasusuka ako sa amoy ng pagkain e. Then I would lose my appetite. So these past few days, we've been eating out or taking out (and eating at home). The result? A very expensive week for us! Hehe! Good thing Ramil has been very considerate of his naglilihing asawa. ;)

Here's a quick rundown of our eatfest:
Thursday - 'merienda' at shakey's (we didn't plan on eating but I was sooo hungry!)
Friday - take-out dinner of fettuccine alfredo from pizza hut
Saturday - lunch at Chowking; dinner at Fazoli's
Sunday - dinner at Gerry's Grill (5:30 dinner - very early for us but again, I was sooo hungry!)
Monday - take-out dinner of fettuccine alfredo from pizza hut

Here's to more dates! :)

tastes

For the past weeks or so, people have been asking me what food/s I've been craving. Ano daw ang pinaglilihian ko? My answer would usually be, nothing but I know the foods that I don't like. Once a food is mentioned I can easily say whether I like it or not but if I'm asked for the foods that I like, I usually have no answer. Until a few days ago! I discovered that I particularly enjoy eating Pizza Hut's fettucine alfredo. I've had it thrice for dinner this past week.

As I've said, I don't like a lot of food right now, particularly chicken. Anything with chicken on it makes me nauseous. Just the smell of chicken especially the roasted kind makes me dizzy as hell. I find it really funny because I used to love chicken before I got pregnant. I prefer seafoods nowadays and this lead Ramil and me to buy 2 big squids in Shopwise last Sunday. Which took us almost two hours to grill, after which we ate a squid tasting like it just came out of the sea (incidentally, I put too much salt on it). Since Ramil is usually tasked with finishing the food (hehe!) he ended up eating most of the salty squid. He now vows not to eat squid for at least 3 months.

a dream

I woke up today with a feeling of excitement. I dreamt about our baby. In my dream, our baby is a boy and he has Ramil's nose. I remember the feeling of holding his soft and vulnerable body in my arms. It was such an exhilarating feeling! Pagkagising ko sabi ko agad kay Ramil, nagparamdam ang baby namin. Hehe! The timing was so perfect because just a few nights ago, I had feelings of apprehension (which I now credit to pregnancy blues) of whether we really are ready for this baby or not. I was asking myself if it's too early to be pregnant. It seems that the baby is telling me that whether I like it or not, I will be ready for him (or her).

On another note, school started yesterday and it has never been more tiring for me. It's no joke being pregnant while teaching! One good thing though, is that it keeps my mind off morning sickness which has hit me the past few days. I've always been susceptible to hyperacidity and it has been bothering me non-stop. Because of the distraction, my morning sickness now strikes in the evening. I also found myself asking my students to let me sit once in a while whereas last schoolyear I usually conduct my classes while standing up or walking around the whole time. My tummy has been growing bigger albeit slightly. I can feel my uterus now whenever I touch my tummy. As my waistline expands, I feel more and more pregnant.

TOWED...again!

For the 3rd time, our beloved car is towed. For the nth time, she stalled. Thankfully, without costs this time (Ramil's uncle, using their jeepney, 'towed' us). Ramil and I were joking that we should make a diary entitled 'The Adventures of the Red Car'.

It was the radiator fan this time. We went to megamall yesterday and when we were in Meralco Ave on our way home, the temp suddenly hit the red area. Fortunately, Ramil was able to park it in front of a small resto/bar named Muchos. After letting the radiator guzzle down volumes of water, we started the car again and discovered the culprit... the radiator fan is broken. We called people and consulted. Turned out it would be dangerous to try using it without the fan. And so we were towed.

This and a lot of other inconveniences our Lancer GLX has given us have us wishing and hoping for enough money to buy a car (a newer one, at least). But with the baby on the way, plus we are actually targetting to buy a lot (for a house), the idea seems far-fetched.Or we can always try home birth, lampin, am, etc. On second thoughts, I'll take the red car.

4 weeks and 5 days

Yup, been to the ob-gyne yesterday and I am officially 4 weeks and 5 days today. Our baby is due on January 30(wah...lagot ako sa mga students ko)! She asked us to have several blood tests and to come back once we have the results already. We were actually treated to a free check-up! Thanks to Teacher Emma, our center director and wedding ninang :) Good thing also coz the tests cost a lot!
