A non-update

Nada.

That's what we have done for the past 2 weeks. After getting my shoes, finding THE RING, there was NOTHING. Work is getting in the way!

Ramil and I have been so busy we hardly had any time to make any progress on our wedding preparations. I've been so busy because I was changing jobs. I'm starting on my new job this coming Monday and I know I'm gonna be more busy the next few months. I haven't obsessed or thought much about wedding preps either. Hopefully, after getting adjusted in my new job in a few weeks time, Ramil and I can go back to the nitty-gritty of wedding preparations.

Hay, my w@w unread mails reached 600! Sorry mga ka-w@wies, I did some mass deletion. So expect little internet activity from me for the next few weeks. Work nga naman, istorbo! :)

Our precious...

Yes, we've found our preciousssss...... and the journey was a long and tiring one. HEHEHE!

It all started when Ramil and I looked at wedding rings in Glorieta. I saw a ring that appealed to me, it was a two-tone wedding ring with a diamond in the center. I really, really liked it and the girl in the shop was willing to give it for 50% discount. I could tell though that Ramil didn't like it very much. Well, I must admit, the design was too girly-girly... :)

Though he didn't say anything about not liking it, I dragged him to more jewelry shops in SM North in my desire to find a wedding ring that we both really like. We went to Naomi jewelry shop and there we found it, a rose gold matte band with diamonds around it. The color was so unusual, it was unlike most rings that we saw. Finally, a design we both really like!

So the next day, I dragged him yet again, this time to Ongpin... to see if we can find something like it there. We walked the whole length of Ongpin and we weren't able to see any shop with a ring made totally out of rose gold. Proof that yes, our design is unusual.

Although, we found a shop willing to make one for us, the quotation they gave us was only 2k cheaper than what we found in Naomi. So for the convenience of it, we decided to forgo the 2k difference, went to Naomi (again!), and made the downpayment!

We're so excited! Ramil wants to wear it immediately when we finally get the rings (they're gonna make a new one for us). Had to burst his bubble and tell him to wait until the wedding, haha!. I'm so happy because we found a design we both love!

The CHEAPEST bridal shoes

Bridal shoes are the least of my priorities. Funny that it should be one of my early purchases.

I don't really think they're that important. They would hardly be seen by anybody and I don't feel like spending a lot for a pair of shoes I would most probably wear only once. Another thing is my tendency to move a lot. Which breeds my loathing for high-heeled shoes. I want to be comfortable on my wedding day and my feet hurt easily in high-heeled shoes (because I walk, hop, bounce, etc).

So I've decided to get flats, the ones that look like ballerina shoes.

Seems that this is my lucky 'season'. I've noticed an increase in flats in shoe stores lately. When I passed by landmark the other day and saw these cute white flats, I knew that I have to buy them now since the style may not be available a few months before our wedding. And it was a bargain too! Got them for 399 pesos! Just hope it lasts until December...

On our personal wedding vows...

We've finally decided to make our personal vows! This afternoon, I asked Ramil whether we're gonna recite our own. Writing our own vows was a tentative thing but since I've been drafting our missalette so I can print it before changing jobs on April 15, I was compelled to ask him for a decision.

I told him that doing that is not a must for me, that it's just something that could make the ceremony more personal and more special. I know that sometimes guys are not into such things...writing stuff down, most especially something as intimate as a wedding vow. But boy, did my honey surprise me again! I was surprised when he told me that yes, he wanted us to make our own vows. When I asked him why, he answered... 'hindi enough un usual vows para sa lahat ng gusto ko sabihin...' Awwww, shucks! :) Made me love him more!!!

Accomplishments for today

Ramil and I went to Star Paper today. Grabe, totoo nga! Sangkatutak ang papel nila! Iba't ibang texture, color, etc. Unfortunately, we weren't able to buy any kasi we had an appointent with Tisha and Ronald (of Balay Kandila) at 10 am. Medyo we got lost going there kaya we wasted precious time looking for the darn place. We're almost sure na din kung ano paper kukunin namin for the misalette. For the invites, we still have to compute if it would be cheaper to buy there or ok na yung nakita ko na photo paper (3 pesos each!). We told Naty (our sales person there) we'll call na lang to give our orders so that the next time we go there, we'll pick it up na lang.

After going to Star Paper, we were off to the shop of Balay Kandila which is really near the Star Paper office. I even saw a fellow w@wie there, Anne! We imformed Tisha of some of our cost-cutting changes...hehe! We'll be having round tables for everybody. Original plan was to get long tables for the presidential tables. Since medyo mas expensive talaga long table, Ramil and I have decided to let go of it.... We'll get tiffany chairs na lang for the presidential table para naman mas special sila. Anyway, Tisha said na mas bongga pa din tables nila.

One other thing we think na we might have to start learning to let go are the drapes, huhu! Ramil and I really loved un mga set-up na may drapes e. So it was one of the things that we wanted BK to do sana. Kaso when Tisha mentioned un rough estimate nya...mama mia! Parang times two agad cost namin sa set-up! Tisha explained how difficult it really is, and we realize that. Nagulat ako, Ramil was so bent on the drapes he was actually considering it!!! Natatawa ako kasi niloloko nya ko sa fixation ko sa tiffany chairs, parang ang gastos daw for chairs lang. Tapos ngayon, sobrang mas mahal pala drapes nya, wehehehe! So we compromised na lang, sabi namin bahala na kasi we can add it na lang along the way kahit mga 2 months before. We have to see pa the actual cost which depends on the size of the area where the drapes will be put.

Hay... not so productive today pero okay na din. We spent the rest of the day lounging in front of the tv at my house, way better than getting around in this heat! At least we've accomplished something pa din. Anyway, time is on our side pa naman... :)
